The process of leaving the Facebook crime organization and taking my data with me makes me feel like Michael Corleone in The Godfather III.
I keep trying to get out, but it keeps sucking me back in.
But it just adds to the tale I have tell about the escaping the Facebook crime syndicate’s numerous data tentacles.
Today (04/032018) I’d thought I would have completed Part 2 of How To Get Off Facebook and Erase Your Data Too.
But the Facebook crime syndicate intervened. Again.
It seems, despite four days of scrubbing interactions of every description, there were STILL some things hanging around.
I also realized I needed to scrub the posts and images from the Facebook pages I manage.
Interestingly, to get a post off a Page, Facebook offers a convenient Check All box at the top of the content menu and you delete multiple posts in a few seconds. This isn’t the case in most places on Facebook, even where it has been somewhat easier to remove several items at once.
NOWHERE ELSE in Facebook I have I encountered a feature this user friendly. Must have been an accident and that engineering team has since been terminated. It proves Facebook could easily make things easier for users to control their interactions and privacy.
Thank you to those of you who have signed up for the emails. I will try not to spew out too many unnecessary posts. I also promise this blog will not always be about Facebook.
My plan is to create a comprehensive guide for getting you and your data away from the Facebook crime syndicate in a series of posts each about 500-750 words. Quickly readable chunks. Later I’ll put them together as chapters and offer them as an ebook.
At least, that’s the plan. I’m writing and website building as fast as I can.
Stay tuned. There’s lots more to t/k.
